The European Radioecology ALLIANCE

What is the ALLIANCE

The European Radioecology ALLIANCE - the ALLIANCE (ALLIANCE MoU), coordinates and promotes research in radioecology in Europe and beyond. It was founded in 2009 and officially registered in 2012 as an Association under the French law.

The ALLIANCE signed in 2013, a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Union of Radioecology (IUR). In November 2015, the ALLIANCE was given Special Liaison status by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). The ALLIANCE promoted the creation and is now an active member of the Consortium of European Radiation Protection Research Platforms MEENAS (MELODI, EURADOS, EURAMED, NERIS, ALLIANCE, SHARE), created in 2020.

The ALLIANCE members bring together parts of their respective expertise and capabilities to maintain and enhance knowledge in radioecology and improve methodologies for assessing the impact of radioactive substances on human and environmental health.

Any organisation conducting radioecology-related activities, can apply to become a member of the European Radioecology ALLIANCE.
